It's been quite quiet recently, however I am still beavering away. The Hanna Sayed proposal is pretty much a dead cert to go ahead (whether I work with her or not). However I need to get things like budgets approved as it's going to require funding. The initial idea was going to be something akin to an inverse catwalk - a promenade style display of fashion items. It's subject to change due to budget, however my work will be in making the installation that informs the piece and this idea is pretty much cemented.
I'm getting frustrated with all this waiting though. Those who are familliar with my work will recognise the above characters from my 'Ding-a-Dong' animation from first year. Andreas suggested pursuing something in this style until the bigger projects get approved. It fits into my initial concept rather loosely, as it's not technically produced with or has much to do with analogue tech. However it'll be really fun so I'm willing to compromise a little. I never expected to be re-visiting a first year project, I have to say.
Seeing how this style is applied to a fashion environment will be interesting. I'm composing a PDF at the moment which will brief the guys on the process, time involved, and my capabilities with the technology.
Edit: I just thought I'd put these here too, for old times' sake. These are some of the characters that didn't make it into the final animation. We've all changed quite a bit since first year, but these are the ones that I feel still ring true, at least a little. I think Laurie needs a hat and some stubble these days though.
